The Raging King’s River

The South Fork of the King's River ran alongside the King's River Scenic Byway, crossing beneath it as I neared the Kanawyers Loop. Along the way, several warning signs made it clear: the river was dangerously high, its strength a result of the heavy snowmelt from the previous winter. My dog, Hallie, and I took the warnings to heart—there would be no second chances near those raging waters.
