At the end of a long but rewarding day, as I made my way back to the top of King’s Canyon, I took a detour to photograph the silhouette of a lone tree perched on a ledge. Its steadfast presence struck me, boldly holding its ground against the elements, with dramatic clouds swirling behind it, lending the scene a sense of quiet strength.
